The Johnson County Countywide Radio System has provided a shared radio and data system infrastructure since 1991. The system serves county departments and other local governments with the intent to reduce the replication of radio systems in the county. In the last sixteen years we have seen growth in size, functionality, technology and number of users. Currently over 3,600 radios and approximately 600 mobile data users access the radio system.
