Administration

The ECC Director is the highest authority in the department and manages the other functional departments. The ECC Director effectively delegates some of his authority and decision making by empowering appropriate ECC staff and management.

The Director reports to the Assistant County Manager and serves as the Principal Officer of Emergency Communications. The director maintains contact with representatives of system user departments to ensure their expectations of service are achieved and standards are maintained, and, in this capacity, serves as the chairperson of the county’s Emergency Communications Advisory Board which is comprised of senior fire and EMS officials. Additionally, the Director is responsible for the administrative, personnel and budgetary activities of the ECC.

The Administrative Assistant performs accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, contracts administration, purchasing, P-Card, and other fiscal duties for the department in accordance with county and department policies and procedures. Coordinates development of the department budget and monitors administration of the budget and capital projects throughout the year.
