Training is a significant part of being a member of the ECC.  All staff members are Kansas Certified First Responders. Some staff members have advanced their skills and knowledge to become Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) or Paramedics. Training is closely related to Operations and is also managed by Ellen Rempel. All staff are required to earn a specific number of continuing education credit hours to maintain certification.

EMT-ECSII Dory Tuininga provides continuing education classes and training for staff members. This requires oversight of needed hours and a structured curriculum.
